AIRBAG: ALL RIGHTS REMOVED

After enjoying a modicum of international success with 2009's debut release "Identity", Norwegian outfit Airbag returned in 2011 with this highly-successful follow-up, an album that garnered a crescendo of kudos across the progressive rock world and marked out the Scandanavian five-piece as one of the new shining lights of the genre. "All Rights Removed" is that bit more mature and epic in scale, the songs are all well written, not too complex and none of them show sign of weakness, music-wise. It is no less smooth and refined as before but has a little more of a spark. The prevailing atmosphere this album exhibits is that of melancholy and mellowness, so there's no crazy deviations. The lyrical themes are mostly about reflection and existentialism. Great, melodic and soaring music like this deserves a listen.
