BAD COMPANY: FAME AND FORTUNE

After an extended break from the rock world, Bad Company reconvened in 1985 with Fame And Fortune, but original singer Paul Rodgers failed to make the trip. His replacement, Brian Howe, was briefly the vocalist for Ted Nugent's band, and proved to have a flair for melodicism on Bad Co.'s seventh release overall. This one is their first release after 3 years in hiatus, and the band sounds very different from its previous incarnation. Some of the elements of the last two Bad Company records (Desolation Angels and Rough Diamonds) remain, such as the increased experimentation with keyboards/synthesizers, but for the most part, it is a departure from the traditional Bad Company sound, which was very rooted in blues, country and a little R&B.
