BAD COMPANY: ROUGH DIAMONDS
Three years is a long time between albums, but Bad Company's Rough Diamonds - their first LP since 1979's Desolation Angels - only makes one wish the band had stayed away even longer. This is definitely the most free form and experimental album that Bad company did, regardless of who was doing vocals. It's more soulful and jazzy than the five previous albums. The rhythm section of drummer Simon Kirke and the aforementioned bassist Boz Burrell is at their best. They got tighter on each album, and they are really in sync on this album.
