JAN AKKERMAN: CLOSE BEAUTY
This album is a feast of variation with acoustic and electric guitar. Musically this is a crossover of different styles. Akkerman is very melodic on this release, letting his guitar be quite lyrical at times. He is more than an accomplished musician, he is an excellent virtuoso and incredibly technically able. "Close Beauty" is inspired from a simple notion, that when you are too close to an object you cannot see the real value. The stunning album cover, painted by Michael Cheval, fits the musical content of the album perfectly.
