PETER BAUMANN: ROMANCE '76

First solo release of Peter Baumann. This album contains the most exquisite 1970s synth music, including symphonic pieces and catchy synth-pop, all of it tuneful and memorable. The album opens with Bicentennial Present, a solemn atmospheric track that is followed by the uptempo Romance with its buoyant rhythm, appealing melody line and gradually building instrumental textures. The next, the minimalist Phase By Phase, starts out slow then picks up steam with glockenspiel and organ before winding down again. Meadow Of Infinity Part One is graced with choral vocals and jungle drums in dramatic juxtaposition whilst The Glass Bridge with its bursts of synth serves as a short intro to Meadow Of Infinity Part Two, an extended track which is an intricately arranged blend of haunting vocals and instrumentation.
