THE BAND: THE BAND
The group's second release is the iconic Band album; it's often referred to as the Brown Album, due to the earthy tones on the cover. Even more than the previous album, it witnesses the group digging into increasingly rich interpretations of traditional music forms. The Band surely is a record obsessed with America, made by a mostly Canadian quintet who explored this country’s roots right as the U.S. became politically and culturally unmoored in the late 1960s.
